Timing for dummies!?!?

Ok..Timing? After reading many post here im convinced that my 66'inline 6's timing is out of wack or at least in need of some tweaking..Can anyone out there tell or show,,website?? pics? somewhere that spells out the timing. Ive got a real good idea on how to do it but without someone there to run through it w/me I am not positive what im doing is right.

I found out how to do it by buying a timing light...most have a generic procedure to checking timing. Also a shop manual should have it as well.

But...Once I get my engine back in...I'll add timing to my how-to list.
