Here is where I sit so far:
Got the head back after over 5 months--

What its going into--

And the almost finished engine--

Just a little update, more to come, hopefully soon.

Man Kirk that is one Sweet Bronco!

Oh yeah and the turbo stuff looks good too!
Did you do just a "J-pipe" or did you fab up something?
Later,
Will

Thanks Will,
Just a "j-pipe" for now, I am behind on getting this bronco running, again (dang machinist). Sure do miss it. You know, keep that "stock" look, that's why the points are still in it.

ps. y'alls article in Car Craft is a keeper, got it today. Congratulations!

Me too, me too. Running 2.5" into a three chambered muffler w/ dual 2.5" out, and don't ask me why, but I have put a cross-over pipe after the muffler (bored Aggie). Maybe I might start something new in sound effectiveness for us "non-true" duals.

OK, here is what was done this weekend:

The process is going slowly, but efficiently (Don't forget that I have four children, this is b/tw feeding and changing diapers on two of them). It is going into the bronco at the end of this week, ALL RIGHT!

that looks great; just curious why did you go with a turbo rather than a supercharger? It just looks like you have a lot more to Fab up with a turbo than with a SC. But it looks like a top notch job. :D

Boy does that look like a clean install. I really like how everything is nicely tucked in. Funny, I just bought two rubber plumbing unions today. I noticed you have those too.

Thank you, sir. A turbo is free power, as to speak exhaustly (is that a word?), your engine has to turn the supercharger. What I mean is the exhaust is coming out anyway, so why not take advantage of it.

Thank you again, yeah they're cheap at Home Depot and do hold some good pressure.

awesome job... that turbo is huge compared to mine... I also went to the home depot and lowes for the couplers, lowes had a few more, although I never ended up using any of them.... oh well, hey you wanna race, I mean see who can get theirs going first?I guess I have a bit of a headstart as mins already in the ca... o.k. I am off to school and good luck!

Uh-oh, the challenges are allready beginning! I have at least five broncos that want to race me in the sand-drags (all V-8s). Everytime I get doing stuff too quickly, I always, and I mean always forget something..."Hey Kirk, aren't you going to put oil in this or do you like adding it while the engine is running?" Don't even ask.

Kirk

You'll be fine I think as long as you don't run up against a well prepped *big* 8.
If not see if you can make room for a 300 in there. Mine has no problem running with them at all.

Thank you sir, you mean the turbo or the 200? No turbo did Ford ever option in the bronco, this is a DIY, and the 200 stopped in '74, I believe.

On another note, got the engine installed Friday evening and b/tw my mishaps and being too excited, Finally started it Sat. evening. Don't even ask about the mishaps. Set float, set timing at 6 BTDC and it idles good, well as good without an exhaust pipe.
Hooked up the advance from manifold vac, and it raised initial timing about 8-10 degrees (same with the retard, hooked it up to the port side of the carb and it takes out about 8-10 degrees) Right now I am running about 24-28 degrees total at 3000-3500 rpms. Haven't checked my plugs yet to see if idle is rich or lean. Started with 68 jets and a 6.5 PV and pvcr's are still 0.0625". Need to check vacuum readings throughout entire rpm range.
Have not got it on the road due to trans problems. Tried swapping a V-8 trans into the L6 intermidiate housing (it connects the trans to the transfer case) and will not work due to the length of the housings and spline locations. So now I am looking for a 3.03 HEF trans. ANYBODY GOT ONE AROUND HOUSTON, TEXAS?
Now I have a hesitation right when I hit the throttle. It looks like the squirters are "squirting" too much fuel. It is alot of fuel, and it backfires thru the carb on a cold engine when I bump the throttle, probably because of no choke, huh, or too much fuel from the squirters?
The boost referenced pump is doing it's job, idles at 5.5 psi and raises from there when boost is applied. At @ 2500 rpm my boost gauge reads @ 4psi of boost. Thats as far as I have had it and I all ready like this "super 60" T3.
That's about it for now, as soon as I find another trans (the original HEF in the bronco was tossed...WHY DID I DO THAT :bang: ) we will see what this little 200 L6 can do.

Not enough fuel, and/or too far retarded timing. Bump that timing up to where it runs pretty smooth at ilde, if you need to take advance out, take it out at the weights, not by turning the dist.

Thanks linc., I give it a try. I what about the pump cam, it is brown now, forget what position, though. Does that make how fast and agressive the squirters are, not how much, that is the pump diaphram, huh?

On another note, here are some pics as I promised:
