this is with the 59 jets, decided to go back with 66 jets

You need more jets to play with!

Yes I have about 10 pairs now, inbetween #54 up to #74. I just decided on the #66's because sounded good to me (anyway that's the year they made the first bronco, ha-ha).

Now if I drilled out the idle air bleeds larger, would that give more fuel or lessen at idle? Down-sizing the high-speed air bleeds would give more fuel while under throttle.

well......air bleeds have more to do with fuel circuit "timing"

If you are at light throttle and you want mains to come on "sooner", you need smaller MAIN bleeds. If the mains come on "too soon", the MAIN air bleeds need to be larger. (this is all part throttle ops, not WOT)

Jacking with idle bleeds is not recommended unless you have some very funky off idle problems.

Don't modify bleeds to change mixture.......Bleeds change the "time" at which different circuits come on (sort of ... in a nutshell)

Did a little research, first I installed the 66 jets and at cruise the lean fluctuations are gone. At idle the mixture does not burn your eyes and the engine runs pretty good. Oops, forgot to say I also installed a new coil for the DSII (maybe now have enough spark to burn the mixture), it does start up instantly. It could still run leaner, though.

If I went back to the smaller jets, making sure that I had an acceptable mixture at idle, (@ 14.0:1) this is using a wideband and assuming eveything else is correct on the carb, it is time for the part-throttle. Now say at cruise under light load, if the load changed and your mixture went pig rich, then I could decrease the size of the idle feed restrictors (IFR) to lessen the incoming fuel. BUT TO COMPENSATE, I would have to then decrease the size of the idle air bleeds (IAB) to limit the air mixing with the now smaller IFR's. These are examples only, and for idle and/or cruise (part-throttle).

So now with all this being acceptable, you would not want your mains to come in and richen things up, so inturn you would want to increase your high speed air bleeds to delay the mains coming in at part-throttle. Basically opposite of what you just did to the IAB's in the example above. This is what stuff I can remember about these circuit in my head, they might be a little choppy, maybe I will find a better example one day.

I might try jetting down to the 64's for now to lean the idle up and I'll watch the cruise, but that is where I'm at now. Keep y'all updated.

... where should i look to find a turbo like the one you are using?

He's using a T3...Read the turbo FAQ at the top of the forum

actually, There is a guy in Dallas that is a seller on the turbomustangs forum, his user name is " vsracing ".
He carries the whole Master Power line of turbos at the cheapest prices of anyone, I bought my T70 from him for $525. Master Power is a Brazilian made line.
His email is: tt300zrcr@hotmail.com ,
website is: http://www.vsracing.net
phone: 214-513-6578

The other place I suggest buying from is Joe at Boosted Systems.
email: joe@boostedsystems.com
website: http://www.boostedsystems.com/
phone: 678-880-0096

Both of these guys I have dealt with and they are great to work with.

Well I ended up going w/ the #65 jets. One hit of the gas pedal and it starts instantly (cold), maybe having the the DSII helps, too. The #64 jets would not let the engine start as good and it had a little hesitation/miss while cruising. It is running good, but a little bog off the throttle because it's rich. I can live with that for now until the wide band comes into play (when I can afford it) and then I'll start messing w/ the carb feed circuits (IFR's, IAB's, and HSAB's).
I have noticed that, if I am not throttle happy, I am getting way better fuel mileage. Just started checking it and seems so far I am getting around 170 miles per tank (that's an 11.5 gal tank) and before with the NA one-barrel it was maybe 130 miles per tank. That's all for now, as usual keep y'all updated.

ps. I'll try and get some pics on Mon.

found an auction for a GARRETT A/R .48/.81 TURBO for a diesel... would this work on a 200 ci ?

A/R's can NOT be used to find out what size a turbo is....Go back and read the FAQ :?

You need to know what TRIM it is, both on the cold side and hot side

WOW geeze i dunno maybe i must have been sleepy when i read the faq the first time because i totally skipped that part.... sorry! :x

That's cool....You need to know the trim size of what they are selling or there is about 90% chance the turbo will be the wrong size.

Well the turbo has been running good, still rich at idle though, and cruise. On the fuel mileage I was wrong, I misread the odometer and I am still getting the 10 mpg I was before (but that's with cruising, stop and go, and messing around in the backwoods on the same tank). Maybe it is better, just need to run a full tank on the highway. Finally pretty much done with one project, only took almost 2 years. Have a good one.
