Vacuum Line (Rubber)

Question about vacuumn line that runs from distributor to carb. Any problem with cutting the metal line 6" or so from distributor and the carb and installing a rubber line inbetween with clamps. Any reason not to do this? I just thought it would be easier lining up the metal connections at the distributor and the carb everytime I pull either the dist. or carb.!?

should be fine as long as it dosnt leak... i have an entirely rubber line from manifold to dizzy

I probably should have included the fuel line in my question as well; cutting the metal fuel line 6" or so from the carb? I already have a rubber line coming off a short section of metal line from the fuel pump to the fuel filter, and then rubber back to a metal line. I wasn't sure if there is a heat factor involved with either the vacuumn line or fuel line being rubber as it drapes over the top of the valve cover?

Should be fine. I recommend EFI fuel hose though, it's a good bit better quality.
