All Small Six Weber 32/36 rough idle

This relates to all small sixes
Seeing all this makes me think that for at least the 32/36 a factory style setup should work. With the carb how i have it, the throttle linkage is just higher than where it was with the autolite. I believe it would work the same with the 38/38. So if I custom make this adapter to put the carb how weber wants then really all the linkage would need is an L bracket with a ball joint to connect to the pedal linkage. Then people in theory should be able to have a stock adjacent setup. They would just need an adjustable rod like yours and the L bracket

The bracket could be adjusted to down or up depending on how long the adjustable rod is. Both of that should mimic how everything worked on the autolite. Now this would only work with the carb bowl facing the front. Any orientation requires what @DON did or a cable throttle.

I also think the L bracket would provide much better leverage for the linkage to work unlike those universal plates

I am thinking you are talking about a L bracket similar to the one in post #250. I just haven’t worked out the mechanics and ratios

Quick question. Does anyone use this hole with their carb? Im going to see my engineering teacher on Monday.

The linkage in the plastic bag are the parts that’s needed to hook the carb to your original linkage.

So they say it will be done by the middle to end of October because of fall break. The kids were only comfortable working with what they had in front of them so sadly there won't be an on manifold version or a 38/38 version. But they will give me the cad file so the design could be modified by anyone. They are going to make threaded holes for the carb studs, model the base of the adapter off of the autolite heater hose spacer, and slim up the outside of the adapter throad so studs don't hit the adapter.

Ill keep you guys updated.

Just so I’m clear, you are making a 32/36 carb adapter to attach to an adapter that fits a one barrel manifold and a 32/36 carb base. This second adapter with turn the carb 90 degrees.
Correct?

Yes so the bowl if facing the front of the car

Also my dad said he'd go 50/50 with ne on a cnc machine so Ill take a stab at the other variants of the adapter people might want. The work area for the machine would be 11.8 by 7.9 by 5.1 inches so I belive that is enough to make adapters. Especially since its a rectangle ish shape

Also my engineering teacher was excited to work on this project. The students rarely get to put their skills to use
