Quick question for you guys that ive recently come upon..

I have a 65 head and the log appears to be smaller than the newer models. Will the conversion plate be even able to to mounted on the log? Is it too narrow?

Thanks guys

I'm kinda new to this 6-cyl stuff, but there two different size openings at the carb mount. The early 1.5" and the later 1.75" bore. There should be adapters for both sizes to adapt a Weber to your manifold. I have the bigger 1.75" Weber adapter from Clifford. Here's a link, scroll to bottom of the page:

What happened to the 71 head? I personally am not a fan of the small, early logs. That's where all the dog log stuff came from. Ford improved the cylinder head in the 70's. The best, I think, is the last log they made. Except for the '70 170 small chambered head with the large flat top log. Cars got heavier with more accessories and Ford improved the heads for more power. The late model 200 and 250 heads have larger 62cc chambers. That's why the smaller 170 is preferred but hard to find. The larger chambered heads can be milled down.
