does anyone know what the color coded wire is for parking and which one is turn signal, I am rewiring the entire car and I want to install these wires right the first time instead of having to do it over.

my new harness has labled wires not color coded. the company I bought it from color coded to g.m. cars. so I chose the labled harness instead.

btw that is for the front end

thanks,
mike

Should be two different style connectors. Match the connectors. If not...plug them in and give it a try...if the head lights come on when yo power up the parking lights...you know it's backwards.

I'll take a look tomorrow morning at mine.

finally found the root of teh problem!

that wire was completely fried, doesn't help that the machine shop wired the alternator backwards either,

next time check you wiring before driving your new engine, (lesson of the day)

In my 60-63 Falcon wiring diagram, B-Y (black w/ yellow) is the parking lights and W-BL(wht w/ blu) Right & G-W(grn w/ wht) Left are the turn signals.
I can't find my Mustang Manual to confirm this, but alot of the wiring colors are the same
Hope this helps

My harness was about the same. THe part through the radiator support was completely fried. I'm lucky I never had a fire

that makes sense because the hazard switch has white with blue, that must connect to the front parking lights for hazards, because the green with white are the rear hazards.

thanks for your help.

I tell you what, if any of you guys need help with wiring I have become almost an expert over the last couple of days.

I have been on the phone with ez-wiring tech for about three hours the past couple of days, may I say they are the best customer service when you buy a product and need help figuring out how to get it to work.

I no longer have the original harness but I have diagrams and know what to do with the wires, the tech guy told me that I did my homework the right way. he was having problems that day with everyones kit cars calling in.

and the saga continues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

got everything hooked up and boy is this fun, first off when connecting the battery the engine was trying to crank with out the key in the ignition, the switch was wired backwards, that's fixed. the windshield wipers when turned on don't turn off still looking for that, no power to the head lights, power wire go disconnected, fixed that but have not tested yet.

seems the only thing that went right is the brake lights worked and the radio worked, lots of trouble shooting to do but man was that a funny morning.

my bad

yeah, i was surprise dthat the car has so many friggin wires under the dash...for a car with NO a/c and electrical stuff

why all the wires?

ford had a grand idea to link everything together so each and every connection is connected to or linked to another part of the car.

on the new harness instead of having eight wiring connections for the light switch there is only four. all of the lights are connected through the fuse box with on wire going to the switch. where ford just ran all the wires to the switch.

but should be done trouble shooting in the next couple of days.

so far everything is working great, found out that I am missing an important part to the harness that supplies power to the light switch, should have it in a couple of days.

most importantly, she's alive.

ran for the first time in a year, also the radio, wipers, brake lights are working properly so all I need is the light switch and were back on the road.

wooooooooooooooohooooooooooooooooo

mike

what year light switch?

I have what turns out to be a 64-66 liht switch...which I cant find the reciept for...

can you use this?

glad you got it running I HATE wiring :D how did they wire the alt up wrong its 3 or 4 friggin wires

it seems that the previous owner bought an alt. at pep boys or something and it really doesn't go with the car, it's mounted upside down. so to a normal machine shop guy the ground and power are on the bottom and the s post on the top. well not mine, and that's how they wired it backwards.

all is fixed now and all I have to do is get the hazards working and the rear parking lights to pass inspection.
