All Big Six 1,082 HP 4.6 Jeep inline 6 from Newcomer Racing

Relates to all big sixes
I especially like the way they took the time to optimize the header design.
I wonder what it can make with EFI instead of that intake manifold?
Individual cylinder AFRs woud be nice to see carb vs EFI.

The Barra is a nice engine, BUT… where are we going to get parts for it here in the U.S.?

We would be at the mercy of you guy’s in down under.

This is why most of us would like to work with what we have right here.

Yeh I know, but its Australia day here so we have to wave the flag. Mind you you do have the chevy dohc six to play with. As another little bragging point, a few jeep sixes have been binned in favour of the Barra, its finding its way into all sorts of things. BTW there is a 'green top" for sale locally to me, $200. Green top is the factory LPG version. We also have trouble understanding your political system, seems to be all wrong!

True. An unsupported Aussie engine may be harder for me to own than, say, a 4.2 GMC Vortek, A Nissan, or even a BMW inline six of a decade ago or so. The Jeep also has a lot of followers and support here in the US. I could see myself scrounging one of those up, even though they have no Ford bloodlines. At least a search of junkyards will turn some up.

Well, on that one point most of us will probably agree with you.

Winston Churchill once said that: “democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others that have been tried.”

The AMC/Jeep 258 is the reason I'm here today. I had one in a CJ5 when I was in highschool. The abuse that thing took was truly amazing. Using no brains and heavy, heavy foot I hammered that though what was basically a small lake. I broke it repeatedly, fix it up, and she kept going. It wasn't until I tried another water crossing that I blew too much oil out of the engine, filled 2 cylinders full of water, and got it so hot that when it hydrolocked, the rods were welded to the crank. It never fully came back from that one

You know what Im going to say! BARRA! A great effort by those guys.
Hey no offense but you keep preaching something you don't even have either and you have direct access to them in down under. So don't fault us for trying to upgrade what we have readily available here in the US.

The GM 4.2 inline six was short lived. This is too bad. From what I read about six months ago, It seems like it has potential. It’s a modern in-line that produces a decent amount of HP. And parts are probably reasonable.

Oh it has potential if you don't mind it being a chevy. Calvin from YouTube channel is pushing 43 psi to try and get to 1000hp.

Yeh I know, its my way of getting some recognition for what us "Convicts" have done. LOL

Did anyone notice that he said they added an additional degree of timing advance with every pound of boost on the jeep vid.
Yes but it wasn’t Keith Newcomer talking.
The engine has the MSD boost retard box on it so it can only remove timing.
The narrator doesn’t know the difference and should have said “remove one degree” or something to that effect.
