10;1 is probably too high, I run 9;1, as to mixers, I run a different thing to you, I not overly keen in Impco, but theyre are available to you, If your running suck through then the 425 is what you need. If blow through you could run the smaller one ca225, keep in mind the air is denser so high mass flow. I would not run rear turbo, too much heat loss, it will lag. Intake manifold isn't that important with boost.
You are probably better off with two small turbos bolted to the manifolds. Read up on A Graham Bell's book, "forced induction", its very usefull. I run a blown LPG 200ci crossflow here.I'll have to move the heater over to get the amount I need. Bigger ripple effect than I expected. Looking into a Clifford dual carb intake to compare cost vs effort.
Pretty cool setup. Dropping the head off for machining next week then based on how that works out I'll bring in the block for an otherwise stock build with the hotter cam recommended by @pmuller9. Just reread my own thread, available 302 flat top pistons put compression at 9.5. Not going custom so around that range is good enough for me. Bell's book is a pricey one - $144 currently. Reading reviews it's sounds like the tech piece if you're a tech guy.
I have a copy of his book and several other related texts, so if you have questions go ahead and ask. What I've found after doing my blown LPG engine is that there is very little first hand experience with these setup. I didn't realise it had got that expensive. I made all of the stuff for my engine at home or at my work, it works very well and with the current petrol problems LPG is still under $1/litre, although I do use a lot, its really good to drive.
Excellent, likely to take you up on that offer. Propane is pretty cheap here in Canada at right around $1.00-1.15 liter vs $1.75 liter for 87 octane regular gas. I live rural and we run a propane boiler for heat. The guys who fill our home tanks spotted my truck in the garage and said if I want him to fill it up just roll it out and he'll look after it. So far we've built everything - no shop time.
I think the Australian dollar and Canadian are almost parity, so LPG is a bit cheaper here, even with the orange buffoon's things. We have autogas and LPG for heating, they are slightly different, you guys have much more cold weather than we do, you probably have 99% propane to keep the pressure up at low temps, ours has some butane and isobutane in it to get the hhv up. I used to work for Westport in Vancouver some years ago, they do CNG LNG and LPG stuff, we did mainly CNG in Perth. I had a license to do all that stuff then. Most of the gear on my car was locally made, LPG was quite big here some years ago. Anyway, ask away.
