Had a few days off last week, spent them all at the local pull-a-part. Gotta a great sunburn too. Anyhow, I found 3 cars with what looked like workable heads I got two of them. I believe one of them is an undesireable that Scheljdahl lists in the performance six handbook it is an E0BE-6090-BB, the other is a D7BE-6090-BA or AB something like that. I know the first one is not the best choice, but it was cheap...$30,,so I pulled it as well. It has an extra hole in the log toward the front that is tapped and held some kind of vacuum distribution spickit or something. I think I will cut this log off just to look in there. The other, I plan on trying some of that stuff Doug did on his setup. Before I went to pull these I called a guy here, and he wanted $500.00 for a completely rebuilt 250 head and for the core he wanted $100.00. He thinks a lot of his work I guess, I told him I would spend a few hours in the sun and pull a couple of rebuildable heads....Also got the Duraspark distributors out of both, I hope I got all the necessary wires, but probably didnt, cause I can't tell nothing about where one begins and the others end. Would like some advice on the heads, you know the possiblities, where to start, how much I'm in for regarding machine work....I hope it isn't $500, if it is Im getting a V8.
