Due to fuel prices I think it may be wort it to build an 6 to run off alcohol.

I think that if the farmers started to grow more sugar cane we could be better off with fuel price. Lower prices at the pump, faarmers make money gas stations benefit; beneficial to the economy I think.

Any way I think a 250 with an aussie 2v head ported, big valves, whatever cam you want, I think it is twice the carburation. I have also understand that alcohal is more resistant to pinging and detonation than gas.

I understand that fat works well in diesels but in a car I think we need sugar.

I think Alcohol may be better for my engine too due to how clean it burns but I do not know this.

As gas prices go up the alternative fuels get more attractive. Alcohol has fewer BTU's per gallon so it takes more to make the same power (your miles per gallon will drop) It has a good octane rating, but can be corrosive to fuel system components. All in all not as good of a fuel as gasoline but I suspect it will become more popular (it is a renewable resource).

in order to run alcohol the engine will need what a fuel mixture that would be considered very rich for gasoline. and also alcohol works alot better at around 12:1-14:1 compression ratio (i think that 180 proof is about 115 octane  ) and yes it is a tad corrosive, but when you change your oil it will still be gold!
