Balancer Question

I have a rebuilt 200 with under 5k. The original balancer was used and has developed a wobble. This one has the rubber insert. I have an old balancer from an early 170. This one is solid with no rubber insert. What harm will be done if I use the solid pulley instead of a new balancer with the rubber insert?
Thanks

I would stick with the rubber core as it takes out some vibration. When I rebuilt my 144 I bought a new one from NAPA for under $30.

I'll try the stiffy for now. I looked at Napaonline. Not found. Falconparts.com has the cheapest price. Most I've seen run around 100.00

i have a 3-bolt balancer from a 200 I am not using. Its in pretty good shape.I painted it and then it sat in my tool box for a while...but the rubber is pretty good. i just never got around to installing it on my mustang.

You can have it for $15 plus shipping.

I believe there may be an alignment problem with the single pulley if you have a water pump from a double pulley.

I had the harmonic balancer on my 200 rebuilt by the "Damper Doctor" out of CA. It's been 4 or 5 years and it's still looking good. I'm pretty frugal so the price must have been resaonable but I don't specifically remember what it costs.

They want about 100.00 30.00 core.
I've got a 200 with the older style water pump and a single pulley.

Great to see another WW fan.

I had no problem switching out the double groove to my single groove in my 200, I also had the long snout water pump.
