Best intake for Megasquirt - stock or Offy C

I have been torn about what engine I have wanted in my old 78' F150 stepside 4x4 for a long time, has a 300 bored over 0.030" stock speed pro hyper pistons, zero deck, stock head shaved 0.010" with mild valve job, Crane 260H cam (love the torque curve), Offy C and a 500 Edelbrock, EFI manifolds, true dual 2.5"

Have budgeted for a Coyote 5.0L swap but I still love the look on peoples face when I pull into the parking lot with my "pissed off tractor". So gonna keep the 300 but want EFI, thinking Megasquirt.

Recently posted in the MS forum and a gentleman brought up interesting topic, using the 300 EFI intake and parts etc for the MS swap. I have personally been thinking using my current setup with the Offy C being bunged to accept MPFI and fuel rail, use a GM TBI for TPS, IAC, with no fuel (have one off a 305, HD Mech at a mine and parts are readily available for "free"), would be a rather cool setup and possibly perform better.

So here is my question for you guys as my experience as far as intake tuning is limited, what intake setup would work best for my application. Custom MPFI Offy C, or stock EFI intake manifold?

Money really isn't a big deal as I have a healthy budget for this engine.

I think the stock EFI intake.

If you plan to rev it lots higher (say, above 4700 rpm) I'd think about an intake with shorter runners. It depends on your intended use.

My cam has valve float at 4800 rpm apparently, it is a 4x4 truck that sees the bush. It is torquey as all hell and I really enjoy driving it. But if I were to go the custom MPFI Offy C route, would I lose any of the torquey characteristics of my current setup? I'm not looking for any more horsepower out of the engine, mainly drive ability and fuel econommy.

I think you wouldn't loose anything you have now below 4700 RPM with the stock EFI intake.

I am sure that converting an Offy C over to MPFI would work well, but for the best in economy and the most low RPM bottom end torque the stock Ford EFI is very tuff to beat. Good luck in your build
