Carb Adaptors 1bbl and 2bbl

Hey all,

I am just finishing my 1bbl adaptor for fitting the 1101 Autolite to the 1.75" bore on my 66. If all goes well, I will have it running Sunday and will test it as much as the rain will allow. I am also mid-step in finishing a 2bbl (weber progressive) adaptor to fit my 1.75" intake bore on the same log. I am experimenting with a vortex or swirl in the throat to help with atomization and throughput. That is scheduled for testing on Memorial weekend.

Is anybody interested in purchasing these adaptors? (once I have pictures posted) I know what Ford Six sells them for..I also know that the 1bbl adaptor is not a perfect fit. The one I am making is perfect with a full face seat for the bottom of the carb. How about the 2bbl to 1bbls for the weber? This one, including the vortex swirl, is low in height and does not require anything but the intake manifold gasket and weber carb gasket. No clearance problems and definately not a bolt on issue like those you get from Langdon's. Send me a reply to PM...just to figure what the interest is and how to price this out.

A vortex swirl? :?:

I'm curious to know what that is, but do I have to go to Dairy Queen? :P

Jim,

I'd be interested in seeing some pics of those adapters, as in photos of the finished product, especially the low height 2bbl adapter. Could it possibly be used as a dual 2bbl, one on each end of the log instead of one in the center? Thank you.

YUP..since I made it...I am entitled to describe it...using as many technical, sophisticated words to mean that the gas/air goes round and round...who would be interested if I called it the merry-go-round!

Is the one on the left(problem-child) machined from chunk or cast? If it's machined, why on earth did they waste more time machining instead of leaving all of the material you left?!

Is the vacuum channel not reqd. for the 1101?
