Is coming! First thing I'm gettin' is Mike's new head. I'm realllly excited about that, but that's my present to myself. I am thinkin' about having my mom buy me a cam, though, to go with the head. While I'm workin' on the engine with the head off, there's not really a better time to do the cam. What's the best cam for me? I want to go fast, and it's a daily driver. I don't care much for MPG. I also don't want the engine to get run too hard. Everything else is stock, so would I need to change anything else while the engine's apart in order to take full advantage of the new power? Pistons, etc...? Also... any ballpark on the cost of the aluminum head? I need to do some finance numbers so I know exactly how much I need to save. Thanks for the information guys!

PS - is the new head is gonna come with a 4V intake... or what?

You can never have too much for a car project.

Suggestion 1: Spend all your dollars on getting the body PERFECT. Then see if you can get any deals on motor parts. A well-presented car would be good advertising for the parts supplier.

Suggestion 2: Build a cammed shortblock with a little over 270° advertised duration. This should come in under $3K. Swap it in, with dual out headers and side pipes. Buy a new head next, and CC to suit your combo.
