I have a question about the clutch pressure plate for a 3.03 transmission (stock) on my new 200c.i. engine that I just installed. I noticed that when tightning down the bolts on the pressure plate to the flywheel that the three levers/arms in the middle of the pressure plate start moving inward, or in the direction of the engine! Is this normal? I would have thought that they would be moving in the direction away from the engine and closer to the throw-out bearing? I installed a new clutch disc (8 1/2") along with a new throw-out bearing, but the pressure plate is not new. After the adjustments to the clutch free-play and the transmission linkage/levers I have to step almost to the floorboard in order to disingage the clutch in order to shift and not grind the gears! Any answers or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!
