Converting a EFI crossflow to carby

I'm thinking of buying an 250 crossflow engine for the boat, now i've sold the 250 2v.
I've found a cheap EFI XE, thinking of buying it. How difficult would it be to carby-ize it?
Simply buy a manifold, a 350 holley, and plug the fuel pump from the old motor onto the new motor and away i go?
Does the cam on the EFI engine have the lobe that'll make the fuel pump go?

ive never seen an EFI engine without the came lobe.... but the rumor is that it doesnt have it..

I just did a bit of a search, appears that you have to change the dizzy, modify the valve cover, etc etc.
Too much hassle - i'll buy a carby one.

Yuo only have to grind a little bit out out of the rocker so that the webber carby doesnt fowl on it. And all u need to do is put in the carby dissy.. IT really isnt al lthat much work

Will the dissy off a precrossflow fit? Coz i have one of those spare.

Best to get the Bosch ignition from an XE or 85 XF (leaded), and get the carb and manifold at the same time.

A pre cross flow dissy wont fit into a cross flow block due to the pre cross flow dissy having a larger shaft size... Use an XE carby/ efi dissy they work well...

Only one thing is sus about that motor.. XFengines were black... i have never seen one painted blue from factory.. but he might of painted it to look better

you can run an efi valve cover on a carby motor with the standard weber carb without modification, if you use 2 gaskets under the carb. this is how i had it setup on my car before the holley came along

Or to make oil leaks more obvious. I painted mine for that reason.
