Simon, i will check out the crow cam dizzy gear. in the us do you have a contact in your country for this improved gear.
One fix we have in the states is to use a hack-saw blade & cut a .060 grouve in the lower oil ring in the dizzy. this .060 slot lets oil pressure to spray onto the dizzy gear & camshaft mating surface. the cut has to be cut to spray oil to the contact surface of the two gears. hope this helps.
please give me info on the crow gear for our usage in the states. thanks william

William, the gear that fits the Duraspark is the DG-2A from memory. I am not sure if it would be any different from that which Crane or Comp my sell. Last pair I bought were $55 each, which is maybe $38 or so in your money.

Our distributors are different, being made locally. The module is self-contained and the spark generated is very hot. They're also harder to recurve (fiddly). The good bit is we mostly run the smaller shaft, so they would be a near drop-in to a 170 or 144, where a D-II won't go.

The extra oiling idea is interesting. The unit as a whole is often neglected and tarry buildup in the bushes stops the oil travelling up the "screw" cut into the shaft to lube the top bush.

Regards, Adam.
