Freeze plug problem

Hello,

Brian here. I attempted to replace one of several rusted/leaky freeze plugs. These are the smaller plugs under the exhaust manifold. I was unable to remove the one I was working on. It now has a huge mangled hole in it, because I tried for several hours to remove it with no success. I know I have to get it out of there, any suggestions?
I was thinking of getting a Dremel and trying to grind out the rest of it. I don't know, this is my only idea so far.

Tap on one spot of the edge (the lip) of the plug this should twist it sideways than take a big screw driver or a small pry bar and pry it the rest of the way out.

Drill a hole in one side of it, then insert a large screw and use the block as leverage to try and pull it out. Alternatively you could use a slide hammer with a hook on it.

I have always used the method bubba described, but no everything comes out nicely.

If things get real bad, I wouldn't hesitate to get a dremel in there and dremel the edge/lip of the softplug until it got weakened (not through it as you could grind into the block and then it would never seal) then try driving a punch or chisel under the lip of the softplug to 'pull' it way from the hole so that you could grab the edge with something like a locking needle nose pliers.

I tried both methods you guys mentioned, I am thinking who ever put them in used JB weld or some other apoxy as sealant.
I will give the dremel a shot, but like you mentioned I am worried I will grind into the block.
