All Small Six Keeping the carb cool

This relates to all small sixes
A little update. I found a guy on Craigslist with a 4 barrel 289 air cleaner near me.

I’m going to make a fibreglass insert to fit the webber carb to the air cleaner housing, tne same size as the 4 barrel outer diameter and I’ll set it up to a height that fits under the hood. I'll continue to use the weber oiled filter and have it inside the ford air cleaner and plumb cold air to it through the radiator support.

I’ll have to get a 200 Sprint decal for it, not that anyone would be fooled into believing it was a 289

Did the seller mention which year and model this air cleaner housing was from? I will keep an eye out for the same for possible use on my 250 Bronco. Information I found online which might be accurate indicated that a 1975 302 Mustang air cleaner housing was 14 inches diameter. The 1970 Mustang with a 200 or 250 was approximately 11-12 inches diameter. Thanks.

He didn’t mention the year of the car but I’ll bet it was from a Falcon. He had a couple of falcons that he was working on and that seemed to be his car of choice. Being that it’s a 289 filte housing it’s probably a good guess that it’s from between around 1963 - 1967 or so. I think the 302 was introduced in 1968.
