messed with timing

and my tapping sound went away completely.. I turned it more clockwise than I thought iit ever should be...looking straght down from the fender...the vacuum points to 4/4:30...

but now I have no tapping/clicking sound on light acceleration.

and MORE POWER. I think I am going to try just a little more...and I have to check my spark plugs to make sure he gapped them at .050 after rebuild.

timing USED to scare me but no more...thanks guys

Get a timing light and do the job correctly. Setting it by ear till the problem goes away mayt merely mask the problem, not solve it.

I agree with the other guys get a lightand do it right.. You can't go by where the vacuum advance it pointing especialy if you have had it out..
