more header questions

I know this subject is old, but I have one more question. Will headers for a 200 also work on the aussie head? I'm particularly interested in the hookers and pacemakers. I've not decided exactly which route to take in my buildup. I'd like to redo the exhaust fairly soon, and want a header that will work on either set-up. Thanks guys

I guess it's predictable, but if you've got a pacemaker, don't try the hookers, LOL...

Looking hard at 2V exhaust outlets, and Pacemaker centre flange, it seems that the fit will be fine on both types of head. Some manufacturers offer a 2V version of headers here, but I don't believe it would be necessary in this instance.

Cheers, Adam.

The Oz head exhaust should be the same as the American head. Ford Oz changed the intake but left the exhaust ports alone.

As i recall (which is scary) AzCoupe in Mesa AZ posted many pictures of the pacemakers and Clifffy headers on his car that has an Ozzy head on a 200 cid motor.........

There appeared to be only one area of conflict from a little square(sorta square) boss on the block near the deck of the block.

I had one here with exhaust ports that were so pattern-mismatched that effectively, they were 1/32" smaller than a stock 221 exhaust port. Hmm...

Mill your head flange surface to be flat and smooth, if any exhaust gas has eroded it over the years. This only needs to be a light linish. When you whack the headers on, you'll get a better seal. Don't use a Fe-Pro exhaust gasket - port holes are too large; sealing area is reduced.

Regards, Adam.
