Hi Folks,

I am looking for a quick/easy carb upgrade for my 65 200. My engine is stock with 6 to 2 headers. Recent rebuild.

I don't have the time or energy to shop the local bone yards for a late model carb replacement so I am considering some of the products from Clifford Performance.

They have a few carb kits that include linkage, carb and 2V adapter. The price seems a bit steep but I am looking for something simple. I also plan on upgrading ignition.

Would love to here your comments or suggestions.

Thanks guys!

For my center carb i looked long at the Weber options and finally bought 3 Autolite 108's off E-bay for about $15 ea and took them apart added a rebuild kit and reassembled 1 good carb mounted it on a clifford adapter and was in business for under$150.00. Am very pleased with the performance and reliability of the Autolite.
I did come across a progressive 2bbl from a Mazda that i have not identified yet but Gas prices what they are am seriously considering changing out the autolite with this carb for the added economy.

Thanks for the reply Dan!

The current carb (I think it is stock) works but it is missing parts and the chock is not functional.

Carb selection can be frustrating with this motor. I am at a point where I just want a reliable, functional carb but the "non mod" or "bolt on" options are few. If I could go down to the local parts store and buy a replacement 1Bl I would. The simple option is to buy from Pony but the $$ are not in the budget.

I saw autolites through JC Whitney of all places. I think they can be had from Autozone as well. An adaptor plate with a good two barrel would be cheaper as well.

Davy don't do the Cliffy! Call me. I did the Stovebolt Holley/Webber with adapter for less the $100 and it works great on my 200 with cam and lots of head work. We had it running right after you helped install the engine last year and have had no problems.

I can install it for ya in an afternoon. You cook the burgers like last time and the kid and I will do the install. Heck, we'll make it a club event.

Thanks Hotrodbob

Looks like a no-brainer. I will order the Stovebolt stuff on Moday...

Stay tuned...
