hi guys long time no see

it's spring break so Ive had time to wrap up a project I had been working on for the past 4 months. I rewired my '66 mustang from front to back with one of those universal 18 circuit kits from summit. it wasn 't easy and I had to retain parts of my original harness (emergency flashers, heater, wipers) after this conversion was complete the car ran. the tunning was spot on when I parked it 4 months ago and the new wiring is correct but the engine runs really rough whether in park or in gear. I took it for a test drive around the block and it died twice! I have also changed the head gasket onthis motor 3 times so there is a new gasket inthere right now and the valves are correctly adjusted according to the mechanic. I even turned the motor by hand to prime it after it had sitting for so long. I am at my wits end.

Did you put fuel stabilizer in it as well four months ago?

no, I did not but I did put some fresh fuel in the tank on top of the old. could this also be caused by a vacuum leak?

yes, a vacuum leak from a cracked hose could cause it.

so could water in the fuel.(that's why it's a good idea to store a car with a full tank w/ stabilizer)

carbs. don't always like to sit around. gaskets and diaphrams dry out, jets and tubes clog up.(fuel pumps can dry out and crack the diaphram)

also,since you rewired it are you getting the proper voltage to your coil?
