running fine until...

just the past two days...starts to have really rough idle and dies in intersections...

runs fine at higher rpms...just sputters at idle. I tried adjusting everything...

this is the car that had some vacuum issues. I also have a new carb

any ideas? could the timing slip out of whack?
 
does it only happen when its cold?? or even after you have driven it for like a half hour?
 
My engine kept stalling out on me at stop lights. It would run fine at higher RPM's. It all boiled down to my carb. The choke setting was acting up and the butterfly would go closed even when the engine was hot...ZZ
 
mine did the same thing, the nuts that hold the carb down (I had replaced mine also) had worked loose and created a vaccum leak at the base of the carb.
 
Both are possibilities...check your choke for proper operation. I had to eventually jam my open because the choke wasn't working properly (it has now been fixed).

Also, check you idle mix screw. I had it happen that it managed to close itself down once and caused the car to die at idle speeds.

move went pretty good. I'm a little pissed at the PO's but oh well. Al has my car hostage while we figure out what I did wrong with the tranny install.

turns out my "newly" rebuilt carb has a stuck float...

AND my dizzy is wobbling a little...throwing timing off.

supposedly I have a head gasket that is starting to leak...arent they all.

I believe the other two...so tady, my stang is back getting carb work...under warrantee.

and maybe a new dizzy...but I checked and I think that can wait.

my mustang has now become my sunday driver. My wife/ex-wife/wacko I was with just got herself a car..so I get my bmw back that she has been driving for 4 1/2 years.
