Hello i was really curious of spintech mufflers i hear really good things about them. I just wondered how they would sound on a stock 1966 mustang 200. If anybody knows anything about them that would help me out alot. The other thing i worry about is that on spintechmufflers.com they say to be used with many cats. Didn't know if it would be ok on my car. Any help soundclips or anything will help on youtube all i can find are of big block 454 chevys and huge engines :bang:

I used some on my 69 Camaro with a big cam and no cats (obviously). It sounded terrific but it was loud and raspy (what I wanted). A friend of mine had them on a fast 5.0L mustang with a full 3" exhaust and no cats. It was the best sounding street car I've ever heard... BUT, I really don't think it would work on a stock straight-six unless you're going for obnoxious.

One thing to remember is on a V8 dual exhaust system you are running four cylinders per muffler. On our six you can run all cylinders through a 2.5" exhaust with a single muffler; plus displacement per muffler would be higher (151-175ci vs. 200ci). Now if you run dual exhaust/mufflers with the 200, then I would agree it could be obnoxious.

I'm not making a recommendation one way or the other on the Spintech, never used them or heard them on a vehicle; just trying to make a point.

Have fun.
