Hey guys,
Looks like im going to have to manipulate my pipes a little bit.
I had a 221 and now i have a 250 and now that i have put my starter motor in and try to put the exhaust on i have no clearance. would one of those mini hi torque starters from an 8 fit?
The pipes hit the solenoid i think they dont fit as they are being bought up just that bit higher.
Thanks
Brendan

Hey brendan try a new falcon starter.
Ive had problems with extractor/starter clearance on Cortinas before as the corty solenoid is at 70-80 degree to the left and Falcon pretty much straight up.
The new starters from sprints are bout $80 and should fit no probs.

Cheers Steve

Hey steve,
You don't happen to have a part number or brand or anything at all do you? I tried a Brand new one the one they say suits all falcons but sill hit on the pipes
Thanks
Brendan

Nah sorry not part numbers but ive got pics of the new type falcon ones and the original 70's corty ones.

Theres a big difference in diametre and the position of the solinoid.one is the factory item on the right.

Big black

What brand are your extractors.
Can you measure the block to pipe clearance?

Cheers Steve

I got a small gear reduction type to an XF which was very small compared to the factory one . I think the brand was "revolution " in a green and black box . Cant remember the part number , but im sure we used to bring them into NZ from OZ .

Thanks Guys
I went to the wrecker today and pulled one outta an xc and it fits so now i will just get a new one of them hopefully
Cheers
Brendan
