Hey Im going to do the T5 swap in my 67 mustang ive got the 3:03 tranny and 2 bolt starter with the v8 pattern bell and im wondering do i have to buy the special crossmember and drive shaft yoke and if i can use the yoke do i have to shorten the driveshaft. Also if i do have to do the special crossmember im wondering if any of you have an idea for plans to make your own. I have full acces to a machine shop and could easily build one if i had plans Or... if not maybe someone has a crossmember they havent installed yet i could get a good picture of and take measurements from.
Thanks again guys for all your help she wouldnt be running without you

Oh one more thing with the 3:03 tranny i was told that if i use the 4cyl t5 i dont? have to swap pilot bearings

When I did the 302 swap into my ranger, I had the engine and trans in place and did the cross member last. It wasn't hard. I think once the trans is bolted up, you will see where the mods have to be made.

As for the input shaft, masure with a dial caliper or micrometer to make sure the shaft and pilot bushing are the same. Never assume anything.

I made the T-5 swap last year in my 69 Mustang with a 250. The bellhousing was fine but I still had to have the adapter plate because the input shaft on the T-5 is longer. I did have to shorten the driveshaft the same amount that the adapter plate added. I honestly can't remember the yoke. The crossmember and adapter plate came in a swap kit. That's the route I recommend...
