Too hot a coil? Is this possible?

Alright, I'll rule out the coil once and for all.

As for the fan, the stock one will not fit with my alum rad, but if you have something you think might work, I'd give it a try. With this in mind however, I'm sure this isn't the cause of the problem as it never overheated for years, set-up this way. It all happened when my head gasket blew. I've since rebuilt the head twice and the overheating persist.
 
I'm not trying to be a sm@rt@ss but did you put the gasket on correctly? How about the timing chain, did you ever check that? I know you mentioned possibly checking it earlier in this thread.

52volt coil, 8mm wires & Pertronix

I have never checked the timing chain, but from what I understand, they rarely jump a tooth. I have to think the gasket is on correct, but I paid someone to remove, rebuild and reinstall the head so I don't know for certain.
