Weber carbs

When I look at the Weber 32/36,I see the different suffixes such as:

DGV
DGEV
DGAV
DFEV

What do they mean and which one do I need for street purposes to give me a little more power over my autolite 1100.

There has been allot of discussion on this. Do a search on each and you will get quite a few returns.

The DFV is the one I chose simple because the primary venturi is closer to the Firewall. This makes hookup to the stock throttle rod easier. The DGV has the primary venturi on the other side.

During your search keep in mind what it takes to tune the fuel and air jets as well. This ends up being part of the discussion.

Good luck, Ric.

The DGV's are all the same basic carb casting, the DGV is manual choke, DGEV - electric choke, DGAV = hot water choke (iirc).

DFAV is a mirror-image DGAV, with the throttle on the other side. That's the one you'll want for a Ford Six, unless you want to run a long throttle cable and argue with linkages. DFAV is also the same as a Holley 5200, used on Pintos and some other Fords in the early '70's.

There are a TON of 'different' models of these carbs, but they're basically all the same except for a wide variety of jetting.
