what do I connect all of the ports to on my OZ manifold?!

I just got my new ceramic coated OZ2502V intake from Mike (FREAKIN GORGEOUS THING!)...pictures soon...

anyway, this thing has more nipples than a pregnant cow! I need a road map.

1. there are 2 nipples sticking up out of a nut/plug on the top face near the rear of the manifold
2. there is a large nipple sticking out and 90degreeing up out of the side jsut behind the carb base
3. there is a large horizontal nipple sticking out toward the front

I assum ONE of these is for PCV, right? Which? Should I be hooking up a PCV system? I have the chrome valve cover, breather and oil cap from Mike as well...no PCV setup there.

What then do I do with the rest of the ports?!

Also, while I'm asking, in the center exhast port on the head, there is a loop of tubing htat looks to enter and exit through the top of that chamber. What is that? What do I do with it (cut it out, leave it as is, plug it, connect one of my many nipples to it  , etc)?

Thanks all!

LOL, try finding something at Victoria's Secret that covers it all...

Seriously, the rear two on top of #5 runner are trans modulator and brake booster vac points.

The ones off the carb base are water lines for temperature regulation of the fanimold. Remember, we never have cold here worth mentioning. It's regulation, not heating. I strongly advocate using it.

The metal coil in your centre exhaust is the choke preheat tubing. If you're not going to use it, drill out the tube, tap the holes and fit allen head set screws; peen the thread above them in the hole so they can't back out.

Adam,

OK, I get the two for the coolant, one from the heater core and the other to the pump. On the hex shaped fitting above #5, I have two of these, one has two ports & the other has three. I get the trans modulator & brake booster, but what is the third one for? And where do I hook up the dizzy vacuum advance and the PCV hose? I assume the Dizzy (load-a-matic) should get the carby vacuum port and the PVC is the largest of the three on the hex fitting, but I really don’t know for sure, even after looking at every picture I can find. I’ll probably use the two port fitting since I don’t have power breaks.

OK, like this?

Those are WATER LINE INLETS?! I just don't want to be pumping water into my fuel mixture!! We also have no cold worth mentioning, so I should be using these as well? Are there just water jackets that run through the manifold around the runners or something?

Should I run my new DSII Dizzie off of the carb port for it? Same for the PCV...off the carb? Where are you guys running your PCV fitting? In the breather on the valve cover?

Don,

Your picture is a 74DA, withthe extra boss forward of the carb base. I am speaking from what I've seen on 71DA and 72DA OEM rigs. That vacuum tree may be non-original. You could replace it for your application, or just plug the unused ports. I've never seen that big plug on the gasket side wound out so far!

The PCV goes to the carb base, the carb also supplies the non-ported vacuum (same as for a D-II). It seems as though some people have found that sending the PCV into the runners via that vacuum tree, causes uneven mixture traits. So, Ford got that right too.

BC, I would try the water jacket. It just controls the sides and bottom of the plenum area. Use some elbows to keep the coolant lines neat and if you like, try a cock in the line so you can close the circuit to water through flow, or open it - like later heaters.

Regards, Adam.
