why wont it just START

i replaced the coil and distributor to my 1966 mustang with the 200 cu.in. I-6, and dont remember what side the wire from the car goes to from the coil, positive or negative? also, what side of the coil does the distributor wire go to? and does the coil need to be grounded? if anybody can give me any kind of advice, it would be greatly appreciated, this is the only thng keeping me from driving my car. thanks yall god bless

The neg post receives the wire from your distributor and the pos receives the harness push-on. Well, on my car it leads to a group of taped wires. try that..ZZ
