will a 4spd out of a 83' mercury capri/5.0 work with our six's i have a 66' 200 six. and my 3 spd is dieing.

The trans itself will work, if you can use the bellhousing from your current trans. Or get a bell adapter.

You might have shifter location issues, etc, but i don't know... never really looked at a 4spd in a 5.0

If you have a 2.77, then it will not bolt up to your current bell.

Maybe you can use the SBF bellhousing, and have a local machine shop fab you up an adapter plate to mate it to your SB6. I'm sure there is a T-5 adapter out there, and it might work, but i won't guarantee it.

What bell do you currently have? Or, how many bolts hold your starter on and how many bolts hold down the top cover inspection plate on your current tranny?

Answering those 2 questions gives me a direction on what to tell you you need.

I think the trans you are refrferring to is the SROD 4spd. It is the father of the T-5 5spd. You might check on whether you can use a T-5 adapter.

ok the starter is held in by 2 bolts, i beleive the plate your refering to is connected with 4 bolts...not 100% on that. i got the dementions for the trans.

i wasnt sure what i needed so i just measured what i thought was important.

1.) 25' from end of output shaft to begining or where it bolts to the bell
2.) intire input shaft is 6 1/4' long, part where the threds start is 2 3/4
3.) mount from edge to edge is 6 3/4
4.) output shaft from end of gearbox to the end is 14 1/4

so what i need to know is if you guys know the demensions of the 3.03 3spd man. trans that is in my car (think thats the one)
any help would be apreciated
