Dampner

I found a place on Ebay that sells rebuilt vibration dampners but they offer a 1, 2, and 3 belt dampner. Which one should I get? It is going on a 78 block.

Howdy TitleistI6:

Theory is that the heavier the damper the better for controlling vibrations and harmonics on the long I6 cranks.

Clearance would be another issue. I've yet to come across a three groove damper, but if it fits clearance wise and aligns with your water pump and other pulleys, that would be my choice.

Please list the rebuild source here. Thanks.

Is the damper the pulley below the fan? If it is, the rubber onmine is pretty hard and has little cracks in it. I think I am going to go with the one belt damper, this way I won't have to worry about clearance issues if I went with the 2 belt damper. I'm going to have the rotating assembly balanced anyway so I don't think the 2 belt damper is really needed.

I just got my rebuilt damper today but it is a three bolt and the one off my engine is a four bolt. Will I need to send this one back and get the four bolt? Do they make a four bolt in a 1 belt pulley or is it only in a 2 belt?
