ok, it's a common story, later model 250 alloy head in a tc cortina. i have decided on an XF as a donor since it will bolt straight in, but my question is, can i fit an XR6 head on it? will it bolt straight on? would a wrecker be happy to part with the head seperate from the block? or is this just completely pointless and a whole lot of hard work for very little increase? will the standard cortina 6cyl sump bolt onto an XF block? thanks a bunch

the er6 head is over head cam, and totally differnt youre xf 250 all ready has a cam thats in the block, u carnt use 2 cams .... the cortina sump will bolt up to the xf block u will need an oil pump pik up, and move the dip stick in the block

ok thanks, well that kinda puts a hole in my plans. oh well back to the drawing board. one more thing, whats the diff betwenn bhp an hp?
