Heat shield between intake and exhaust

I was thinking about how close the intake manifold/log is to the exhaust manifold. Iam sure alot or the exhaust heat rises right up in to the intake and carb. Has anyone fabricated a heat shield or anything, iam sure keeping that heat away from the carb will free up some power.

with the linkage i made for my 2brl it would make that really easy to do i just haves found the time to do it yet

and i do think u would see a decent amount of difference in the power esecially with less heat

i guess iam just a customed to v8's where the carb and intake sits away from the major heat sources like the exhaust, i never really thought about it
