Idle RPM

am comfortable with the way it's set up since it runs great.

Well, after all the tech & specs that's what it really come down to, 'hows it run'
...nice to sit back and enjoy the ride :vert

For future reference here's a page with the ratio of scv port vac(hg) to advance(degrees) specs...
http://falconfaq.dyndns.org/display1.ph ... Page=9-030

And a thought for determining total advance once she's off the scale is to use a 'dial back' timing light (will let you clock the degrees on the timing light until the flashing light returns to TDC and determine advance at a given rpm).
EDIT: One last thought...consider the pertronix upgrade. Probably easiest anc cheapest electronic ign upgrade given your current setup. if you want a nice performance wake-up & no more changing/adjusting points
Good luck with your bird

I actually just got the Pertronix ignition last week. Seemed to give it better response. My timing light doesn't have a dial, but I may invest in one. That link you posted has some great information on it. I'm always looking for good Falcon sites. Thanks to everyone for their advice!

when you installed the pertronix did you take away the ballast reistor? it converts the 12v to 6v, and since you now have pertonix you want the full 12v going to the module.

It ran fine when I installed it, so I'm not sure if I even have a resistor installed. I remember the instructions stating to keep it installed if it was already there.
