I am looking at the RC Motorsports suspension for my 65 Comet. This setup relocates the stock linkages from behind the wheel to a rack in front of the wheel.

I plan on keeping my Ford inline 6 - 200 engine.

In order to use this system, they said I will need to change my oil pan to one with the sump in the rear to allow for the forward mounted rack.

Can anybody tell me where I might find a oil pan with a rear sump?

thanks

I think the low-mount starter 200 came with a rear slump pan.

Thanks Tony....how/where would I find one of those?

thanks

I haven't seen reproductions of them (just the regular front slump). I'd say your best bet is to search the bone yard for a 69 (I think) or later 200 block and pull one off that.

Look for a 78-83 Fox platform car. That includes Fairmonts, Zephyrs, 81- later granadas, 79-81 Mustangs and Capris, and some Mercury models. If it has a 200, if will have a rear sump pan.

One thing that you need to be aware of is the dipstick. Starting with the D8 block casting, there is an additional boss for the rear mounted dipstick. It does not exist on earlier blocks, so you'll have to come up with some other way to mount the dipstick.
