Made it to the track finally!

Oh yea, I finally got to get my car to the track Tuesday night. My buddy had to bring me a full bottle and he did not get there till later so I did not get in as many nitrous passes as I wanted but I still think it did great! The track was kind of crappy but I was on the 13" tires so I cant talk to much. I was supprised to see that my motor runs where not much faster from the last time I went before I had the 2300 converter. I guess it was not quicker because it was spinning a little and the timing was back for the nitrous this time. Last time I was at the track I ran 10.5?@67.?? and this time I ran 10.40@68.49 with a 2.35 60'. I was hoping to do a little better than that on the motor but who cares, by this time I was hooking up the bottle! Before I left for the track I put the little 75 shot jets back in(there is a lot of people watching!). I had a nice full bottle and was ready to go! The first pass with the nitrous was a 9.14@79.64 with a 2.27 60' with the tires spinning. I knew I could do way better than that so the next pass I left a little easier off the line and when I spraid it spun a little more and whent. That pass I ran 9.09@79.80 with a 2.28 60'. I was happy with that but now I wanted an eight sec. pass! It was getting dark and cooling off outside plus I let my car cool down a good bit. Now it was time for bracket racing so I dialed in at 8.95. Well, this would be my last pass for the night because it killed the tires off the line on the motor and when I spraid it it just lit them up again to a 9.27@79.36 with a 2.38 60'. I could not run down the other guys 11.16 with a 11.10 dial in. Oh well out in the first round! Man I had a blast though! That thing messes with peoples heads! I think I had at least a few people around my car asking me about it just about all night. I was happy with it. The small 75 shot picked it up 1.5 sec. and over 11mph! That's cool! I am ready to do it again soon!

excuse my ignorance...but is that an 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile track?

and that would be a really really really good time for a 1/4 mile track, lol he would almost sound like an import making up outragous numbers if he were talking 1/4. so i would say it is safe to bet it was 1/8 mile

Awesome times man!!! Sounds like a lot of fun!!

That translates into mid 14 second times in the qtr mile

I think its time to put some et slicks on the back and run a high 8

so you have a turbo charger and noss??? what else have you done? any guesses on how much hp?? cause my goal is to get into the mid or high 14's. my plan with my engine is as follows. 8)

1.) full header and duel exuast system (done)
2.) Dura Spark 2 ignition with msd 6al modual
3.) 252 comp cam
4.) webber 5200 carb
5.) Srod 4 speed tranny swap (in progress)
6.) 1.6 adjustable rocker arms
7.) clifford port adapter
8.) thin metal head gasket
9.) complete ram air setup

i hope that would do it. i think it will however first i need to get a paint job badly. so my engine playing will have to wait untill that is finished, lucky for me i have a friend of the family that will help with the paint job.
