switching from a single carb to a double carb

What does it take to switch from a single to a double carb??? Any suggestions on a good carb???? Also, if I switch from the stock air filter, does the chrome air filter from ford six shop work??? or do I need the double carb first.???

If you are using the log head, then you will need a 2bbl carb adapter. I think you will need to fab up your own linkage too. You can get the adapter from Clifford Perfomance or Stovebolt. There is also an adapter plate for the air cleaner that you can get from Cliiford Performance. If I missed anything the other guys should fill you in shortly. I also heard that the load-o-matic dizzy is designed to work with the stock 1bbl carbs, so you might have to do a Duraspark conversion also. Not sure about that. Welcome to the site!
