i am a little confused on the timing marks on the motor.. where is 12 deg. btdc..if the marks are from 0 to 14..do i set the timing at 12 on the engine timing marks..for some reason it's just not sinking in my brain, could be spring fever.......

Yes...if you want the timing at 12* BTDC, then time it to the 12 mark on the timing bracket. That is assuming of course it is accurate.

speaking of timing.Ijust rebuilt an engine. It's a 242 jeep I6 but still an I6. Now would timing cause it to buck like it's wantin to jump out of the engine bay?Mostly between 0 and 45MPH but on hard acceleration it's not too bad and highway speeds it ain't too bad.

it was teh timing. The timing on a 94 jeep cherokee is controlled by the ecu we found out.We cut the tabs off of the dizzy so we could rotate it and it cleared the problem right up.
