or I can call my front desk...it was delivered today!!!

ah...incompetant america......

...is the YF1 higher CFM than the YFA

Hmm...never seen a YF1. Try Mustang Geezers website. He lists quit a few carburetors and their respective CFM ratings. However, you might want to say away from the 240 & 300 carburetors. You may have hood clearance issues. I think they are RBS'

Or...you could go with a Holley/Weber 32/36 like I did just last week.

It was cheap! 65.00 for the carb. and 15.00 for the adapter. Kick in about 3 bucks worth of aluminum stock and .... BAM!

It flows about 280 CFM and because of small primary, the low torque is pretty cool at take off.

chris you havent gotten a mpg yet have you....

I am sooo curiuos about that

No MPG yet. Hopefully next week I'll be driving the car to and from work. I should get a good estimate considering it's approx. 40 miles a day.

I'll keep you posted. :D

I certainly wont have hood clearance issues now...hehe...my custom hood allows for an extra 1.5"-2" of extra carb height if i need it. :D ....but 65.00 is really good...i think i'll see what they cost here...if its about the same, most likely a bit more $$ then i will definitely go that route...cant wait to see what kinda MPG u get.

well i loosened the accelerator pump screw one full turn and since i couldnt find any jets i took the jet and played the end with some pliers and managed to fairly neatly crimp the end so it was a fair bit smaller..still bigger than stock but i have no idea how much, i sorta bog a bit from 0-30 MPH but its not toooo bad, but after 30-35 MPH it starts to giver...fun to watch the acceleration needle go slower and then all of a sudden speed up...but all in all I managed to cut gas mileage approximately in half...I took a trip yesterday that normally would have taken almost 1/4 tank of gas and this time i only used not even an 1/8 of a tank...same driving pretty much...but its waaaaaay better...i think i will leave it like this for awhile...then check my plugs again and see if its any better...still smells a little bit rich, but at least u dont eat the fumes.

Dave, have you thought about plugging the jet with a two part adhesive and redrilling the jet?

I know here in the US you can get just about any two part adhesive you can think of. Try JB Weld, they say it's resistant to gasonline plus it's drillable - I know. http://www.jbweld.net/coldweld.html

i actually have thought of that...just wasnt sure how good it would be incase it came loose and went into the engine...

Well, I think as long as the surfaces you are plugging are very clean, it should be alright. Besides, if it does come loose a piece of filler that tiny wouldn't hurt a thing.
