1967 200 inline 6 cylinder connecting rods

My son has a 1967 Ford Mustang with a 200 inline 6 cylinder motor.
Unfortunatley, he broke 2 connecting rods last Saturday night. :bang:
I found someone with rods and pistons from a 1970 Maverick with
a 200 inline 6 cylinder, but I'm not sure if they will fit my sons.
The connecting rods on the Maverick are stamped C30E.
Anyone know if these will work? Or does anyone know where
I can find connecting rods for his 200?
Thank you!

 Yes those Conecting Rods should fit you should use a matched set though and have them rebuilt using a set of ARP Rod bolts too so he doesn't break it again. Good luck

Usually when you break a rod it breaks other things too, so you may want to do a complete teardown and completely inspect the rest of the engines components and even magnaflux a few things, ie. head, block, crank, etc....

Blowing a forged rod he must have over rev'd the sh*t out of it

With my old/tired/sick 200, the valve float acts like a rev limiter, I can't imagine getting a stock 200 to rev high enough to break a rod...

Free rev to the floor for a minute is harder than high rev under load .

I get that, and with no load, it would likely let go, But what kind of sick, twisted spawn of satan (no offense OP) would do such a thing? This was not an "accident", and the failure happened between the seat, and the pedals...

to replace a coupla rods only would be dangerous, no? (may B worded: 'faulty logic' would fit better here)
I thought all components hadda match in terms of equal weight (all manufactured at the same time to 'fit together')?
"...use a matched set though …"
Well, may B not - then you could never rebuild an engine, haha! That's just hi-performance ones I see. Matched set means the piston/rod combo is not separated and 'miss-matched'?

Pistons valves and other components can be checked while swappin in the 2 rods, no? Cam, H2O pump, etc, etc don't need checking?
Thanks.

Good luck w/the next steps, I got a youngster - may B get the driver involved in the 'correction' for a lill "natural consequences of ur actions" lesson in repair your actions (& knowledge about the damage, how the vehicle is assembled/works).
