fan not turning... What next???

As far as radiator clearance, I've heard a lot of "minimum" recommendations, but I think 1/2" would be plenty.

IIRC I think the recommended maximum spacing is 3/4-1"
Without a fan shroud, too much space between the fan and radiator tends to stir the air in the engine compartment rather than pull fresh air through the radiator. Good luck

BTW, I also saw in several placed that the recommended distance between fan blade and radiator is 3/4 - 1".
