HI
I'm in the process of replacing my starter.. and the headers (perfromance header) is in the way ....
My question is can I ground out a little piece of the bell so the noise of the starter well move past it and out?? or is there a different solution?? None I can see other than cutting that pipe out and replaceing it with flex or something or pulling the header, and the header is such a PITA to install I don't realy want to do that..
any help well be apprcated.
Thanks
tim

I haven't tried this but I don't see why it wouldn't work. There's two small bolts that hold the starter together. Take those out, and take it apart piece by piece. Throw it in the trash and get one of the newer mini starters. Mike was selling some earlier but I don't know if he still has them. I have the style that he was selling, they are a full 10 lbs lighter. A lot smaller and should be a breeze to put in with the headers installed. Can't give you a model number because I am using a small block V8 bellhousing but I 'm sure somebody can help you with one that will fit.
