I recently bought a distributor on Ebay for my 200 engine and tonight added the Pertronix ignitor, a new rotor (which it did not have when I bought the distributor), and new distributor cap. This may be a dumb question, but this is my first attempt at this, but should the rotor "float" or spin freely on the shaft/lubricating wick inside the distributor or am I missing something? I have a Mustang shop manual and have installed this thing with the metal clip facing upward.
