i have a 67 stang with a 200ci engine. my question is what lifters did the 200 come with solid or hydraulic? im wanting to buy a kit from classic inlines but i dont know which one to get.

cool thanks. i know its not the original engine. i bought it from a girl, it was her sweet 16 car, and her grandpa worked on it for her. hes dead now, so im left with many questions. she did say that he replaced the engine, but that could mean rebuilt too. :? what were the years that had hydraulic lifter?

You can get the numbers from the head, they are on the intake log next to the firewall. Depending on what year the engine is the block number could be in a few different places, I think theres an article about it on the "tech" section of this website

thanks for the help guys. ill be leaving afghanistan within the week, and i

cant wait to get to work. havent even got to see it in person yet. going to terrorize fort bragg!! !!

The block casting numbers are under the exhaust manifold. The first two digits indicate year: C3 = 63, C8 = 68, D5 = 75, E0 = 1980, etc.

Have a safe trip home, Airborne.
