250 EFI into XC Ute

Hey Guys !
The EFI motor is finally in the ute and running !!
But... (why is there always a but ??)

I need a fuel system! I've decided to ditch the ZL tank and i think i might ditch my original tank too ! (was full of rust and rocks !)

I was quoted $170 today for a tank from a XG without pump...
But i've also seen that thru VPW i can get a 16gal fuel cell for only $200...
Which would be MUCH better than the crappy ford tank

But ! I need to get the fuel from the tank to the fuel rail !!
I was thinking, tank -> Lift pump (holley red?) -> surge tank -> efi pump (vl?) -> fuel rail.

Does this sound the goods ?
I'm thinking of going this was as its an easy setup to upgrade for when (if) i go turbo and need more fuel !

Also the vacuum line on the regulator should be hooked to where? just the plenum ??

Also so far no high idling issues, but i've hardly got it going, as there is currently the ZL pump sitting in a bucket in the tray as my fuel supply

nice work on the xc.

Just wondering "Wagon" what problems you confronted when you changed from carby to efi as i would like to convery my xe as well.
