I spoke too soon. The Morel lifter set was in my mailbox when I got home from work! I had to run my son to cello lesson but will try to make them fit in the 250 block when I get back home again.
Now I will have to maybe throw a cam in and make sure that they are long enough to make contact to the base circle. I have also only tried one spot. It does take about 3 hands to do, but I did it!
You have found out why the Argentines use a pinned type of cam-follower. Even if you can get the tie bar type to work, what about the camshaft? It needs to be hardened steel, complete with the oil pump drive gear. Good luck.
This was "can I get them to fit". Now it's time to contact cam companies. Tighe (spelling?) made one for mike1157 years ago so it can be done. That means a US company should be able to too. Gotta start somewhere...
Not sure until I play some more. TBH, I'm leaning towards just grinding the whole thing out and plugging the hole. I do believe that's the mounting point for the coil and I don't plan to mount there anyway.
