The lifters are not in the right location.Fully seated and linked!!!!
Being that the casting is between the lifter pairs, does it interfere with the lifters? This cast in bolt location will need to be dealt with too
Not sure until I play some more. TBH, I'm leaning towards just grinding the whole thing out and plugging the hole. I do believe that's the mounting point for the coil and I don't plan to mount there anyway.Being that the casting is between the lifter pairs, does it interfere with the lifters?
Be careful about grinding close the that water passage. Use a gasket to see where. The Jeep guys take a little off the retainer button at the outside edge so as not to affect any link retention. if you do be careful there too.
Those guys are not fooling around. I think that they do the pin is because it kills two birds, a lot less weight and two, easier assembly. It may be that the link will not work on a 200 South American block and may not work on a 200 U.S. block ,I know that there is a lot less room on a 200 US block compared to the US 250, time will tell. You have found out why the Argentines use a pinned type of cam-follower. Even if you can get the tie bar type to work, what about the camshaft? It needs to be hardened steel, complete with the oil pump drive gear. Good luck.
I've seen that the bushings are $35-50 each before you even buy the lifters. I wasn't on getting crazy with the grinder. Just enough to pass. It isn't going to take much. Good point on the button. I can take a little from each and reduce my risk that way. Those guys are not fooling around. I think that they do the pin is because it kills two birds, a lot less weight and two, easier assembly. They have a 188/221 block, much like we did, its a higher deck than the 200 to accommodate the longer stroke, 188 is 2.94 and 221 is 3.46, you guys never had these. Those guys are not fooling around.
